Renaissance Tales will allow people to truly understand the history of Renaissance Florence. We are working in collaboration with Virtualiter, an Italian company which has produced Virtual Reality applications for world-famous museums, such as the Accademia Gallery and the Uffizi Gallery, iconic luxury locations such as Palazzo Tornabuoni in Florence and exhibitions such as the Shanghai Italian Center and Expo Milano 2015.

Witnessing important events and meeting some of the characters who formed and influenced this revolutionary artistic movement, we will take a magical trip into the artworks themselves, seeing them come to life, whilst travelling back into history with the artist as our guide. We will explore the city, meet the Medici’s and assist the artist in his studio.

Starting at the Magi Chapel at Palazzo Medici Riccardi we will first take the user back to the Renaissance in order to show how this location would have looked to the people of that time.

A visitor to the chapel today, sometimes even an expert, often misses the storytelling that the artist in the Renaissance wished to express in his work of art.

The lighting conditions of the frescoes today fail to show the gold of the horses and the characters, which were evident when the Chapel, in the Renaissance, was lit by torches.

We are then introduced to the magnate, diplomat, politician and patron of scholars, artists and poets, LORENZO DE’ MEDICI. LORENZO will tell us further stories of the characters within the fresco (including his family) as we see them come to life in animated dioramas.

Taken from a 3D scan of a 16th Century bust and imported into Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman, we have recreated a Digital Human version of Lorenzo de' Medici.
Lorenzo The Magnificent was the most powerful and enthusiastic patron of Renaissance culture in Italy and will act as your guide.
